Marion YMCA Triathlon

Swimmers compete in the swimming leg of the annual triathlon held at the Marion Family YMCA. The triathlon consisted of swimming, biking and running. This year a duathlon was added that included running and biking.

The Prospect Carp Tournament can be a family affair. The banks of the Scioto hosted this father and son who spent some time waiting for just the right size carp to come along. 

Waldo Firemans Festival

Goodwill Wheelathon

 The Annual Goodwill Wheel-A-Thon brings awareness to the daily trials of being bound to a wheel chair. The Marion allual fundraiser is usually the fourth Saturday in May. For more information check out the local Goodwill web site 

Marion Blue Racers Indoor Football Team

Buckeye Chuck – Groundhog Day

Ohio’s official Spring weather-predicting groundhog, checks for his shadow at WMRN, 1330 N Main St. Marion.  Come early before the sun comes up, if any, to see Chuck.  Hot drinks and, of course, spam burger are served every year.

Scout Pilgrimage

Annual Historic Event in Marion Ohio - Events

Commemorate the birthday of President Harding.  Over 500 scouts gather each year to pay homage to the President and First Lady for their support of scouting.  This event also includes the U.S. Army’s annual Wreath Laying Ceremony on behalf of the White House.  Featured speakers include scouts and an Army Brigadier General who will represent the President of the United States.   Free Admission and the public is invited to attend. Celebrate Summer

chalk drawings by children Celebrate Summer is an annual arts, music festival that also features pre-1950 historic car and truck extravaganza. This event is held in downtown Marion, Ohio on the fourth Saturday of June.

With over 40 artists coming from far and wide we assure you that you will find a variety of mediums on display.  Bring your children and let them express their creative side in the children’s tent.
