The western Marion County trail offers a serene, wooded escape for cycling, running, or walking. Along the trail, you’ll have the opportunity to observe local wildlife and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. For those who prefer water activities, Foundation Lake is available for kayaking or canoeing. Additionally, the County Naturalist leads free programs throughout the year. This 12.4-mile trail is handicapped accessible and extends to the Hardin County line.
Parking is available at five locations:
- Mile 0: A paved parking area is available at the Holland Road trailhead.

Marion, Ohio 43302 - Mile 0.9: The parking area at the northwest corner of Foundation Lake is situated along Herr Road, nestled between SR 95 and SR 309.
- Mile 3.7: The members of the Espyville Baptist allow trail users to park in their lot as long as the church is not in session, reminding visitors that they are not responsible for vehicles left there.

Marion, Ohio 43302 - Mile 8.4: A 19-car paved lot in DeCliff, where the trail crosses DeCliff Rd. Since DeCliff is an unincorporated village, the parking lot has a LaRue address:
